Conversations with Folasade

About

I'm Folasade. This is where the conversation begins.

I started Conversations with Folasade as a place to write about the experiences we don’t always know how to explain.

Life between cultures. Language. Work. Identity. Motherhood. Starting again. And the quiet thoughts that often stay with us long after a moment has passed.

I don’t have all the answers. But I believe there is something meaningful in talking honestly about the questions.

Nursing Life

Working as a nurse has placed me close to people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. It has taught me to notice resilience, uncertainty and the quiet strength people carry.

Life Across Borders

Moving between countries has shaped the way I see belonging. I know what it means to learn new systems, speak in another language and slowly build a life in a place that once felt unfamiliar.

My Journey

I was born in Nigeria and have built a life across different places, languages and cultures.

Today, I live in Denmark and work as a nurse. Much of my adult life has been shaped by adapting, learning and finding my place in environments that did not always feel familiar.

These experiences have made me curious about the things we carry quietly, and the stories behind the lives people see from the outside.

Why I Write

I write because some experiences stay with us long after the moment has passed.

Sometimes it is a conversation at work. A question from a child. A memory from another country. Or simply a thought that returns when everything becomes quiet.

Writing gives me space to sit with those moments and ask what they might mean.

I don’t write because I have figured everything out. I write because I am still learning, still questioning and still becoming.

And perhaps, somewhere in my words, someone else will recognise a part of their own story
